For scenario 1, SonicWALL proposes the following solution set:
Low tech small office solution

• One (1) SonicWALL SOHO2 Internet Security Appliance with VPN Upgrade
•  One (1) License for SonicWALL VPN Client Software for Windows • For central management from ISP NOC, SonicWALL Global Management System (SGMS)

The SonicWALL SOHO2 Internet Security Appliance would install between the Internet access device (router/modem/bridge) and LAN (hub/switch) as illustrated in (Figure 1). The SonicWALL SOHO2 provides an ICSA certified firewall to protect the small office LAN from Internet-borne threats. For remote access to the LAN by the office administrator, the SonicWALL VPN Upgrade would be activated for the SonicWALL SOHO2 and the office administrator would install the SonicWALL VPN Client for Windows on his or her remote PC. SGMS would be installed on an available NT 4.0, Windows 2000 or Solaris server at the ISP NOC to provide central management for the solution set.

  • One (1) SonicWALL SOHO2 Internet Security Appliance with VPN Upgrade
  • One (1) License for SonicWALL VPN Client Software for Windows
