As of March 1, 2002, there were approximately 28 ISPs in Saudi Arabia, of
which approimately 12 were VISPs.
Since many subscribers use prepaid Internet cards instead of signing up for
dialup contracts, subscriber numbers in Saudi Arabia can fluctuate rapidly.
The Saudi population is young (see CIA stats below), and ISPs therefore expect
rapid subscriber growth in the future.
DSL services were only recently introduced to Saudi Arabia, and there are
no reliable numbers for wireless Internet services.
