AIR2LAN recently teamed up with BigNet, an ISP operating in its home state of Missouri. Under its preferred partnership program with ISPs, BigNet becomes its ISP of choice for clients that are not associated with any particular company. ISPs seeking to establish the same type of working relationship with AIR2LAN are welcome to strike a deal with the wireless company, as long as the ISP offers regional coverage of operates in a major metropolitan market. Jeff Judin, AIR2LAN vice president of investor and public relations, said details of each relationship depend on technical service issues. "We don't have a cookie-cutter preferred partnership program in place," Judin said. "We will work with ISPs on an individual basis determined by the needs of the ISPs service area and market base." What it does The AIR2LAN system is designed to handle multiple users simultaneously access the Internet through a wireless high-speed network specifically secured for the building or complex. The technology allows owners to defer wired lines costs and construction delays while providing instant, portable access to the Internet. Users who already have an ISP may maintain their account.
