Metromedia and Cogent Expand Relationship

November 14, 2000 -- Metromedia Fiber Network will provide Cogent Communications with Internet infrastructure, co-location and transit services. This agreement expands the existing relationship between the two companies under which MFN leases dark fiber to Cogent.

Under the new agreement, Cogent, a next generation ISP, will gain access to MFN's world-class data centers and one-hop Internet network through MFN's AboveNet Communications subsidiary. This agreement should complement Cogent's own nationwide optical fiber network and enable it to efficiently and cost-effectively move its data and Internet traffic within and between metropolitan areas at up to multi-terabit-per-second speeds.
