Broadwing Inks Agreement with Allegiance

October 29, 2001 -- Broadwing Communications, a wholly owned subsidiary of the integrated communications provider Broadwing Inc. (NYSE:BRW), announced a multi-year agreement with Allegiance Telecom, Inc. (Nasdaq:ALGX), to provide 2.5 gigabit lightwave services, connecting eight of the carrier's major metropolitan markets.

According to the company, Broadwing's lightwave services, available on an all-optical switched network provide capacity, speed, and performance that are superior to traditional legacy networks.
