She has been involved in the design, implementation, and hands-on evaluation of internet products for over 25 years. At Core Competence, Phifer advises companies large and small regarding the use of advanced network technologies and security best practices to manage risk and meet business needs. She has taught and written extensively about a wide range of technologies, from wireless/mobile security and intrusion prevention to virtual private networking and network access control.
